Terms of Service

Version 1.0, 2 September 2026.

1. Who provides the service

To be completed before launch. Swedish e-commerce law requires the service provider to be identifiable. This section must carry the company's registered name, its address, its organisation number and a contact address, in the wording confirmed with the company's accountant.

In these terms, "we" and "us" mean that company, and "you" means the person or organisation holding the account. The service is fabricatedemail: disposable email addresses and the HTTP API that reads the mail sent to them, at fabricatedemail.com and api.fabricatedemail.com.

2. The account

One account belongs to one person, identified by the email address they sign in with. You are responsible for what happens under your account and under every API key it holds. Keys are shown once, when created; keep them secret, and revoke a key you believe is exposed. Revoking a key deletes the addresses it created and the mail held for them.

You must be able to enter a contract in your jurisdiction. You may not sign up with a disposable email address, including one of ours.

3. Tiers, caps and what they mean

The tiers, their prices and their caps are on the pricing page, which forms part of these terms:

Caps are counted per account across all of its keys. When an account reaches its monthly message cap, further mail is dropped and counted until the month turns over; when it reaches its address cap, requests to register another address are refused. Neither produces a charge: there is no metering and no overage billing.

We may also grant an account uncapped use at our discretion and withdraw that grant at any time.

4. Technical limits, and what the service does not promise

The technical limits of the service — message retention of 24 hours, the API rate limit, message and field size caps, the 1 000-messages-per -address bound and the 10 000-address bound — are documented under Limits and caps in the API contract, which also forms part of these terms. They apply on every tier and are not features of any tier.

Mail is stored on a best-effort basis. Several conditions cause a message never to reach you, most of them silent by design; they are listed in full at Why mail might not arrive. In particular, Cloudflare Email Routing rejects inbound mail that fails both SPF and DKIM, mail that fails the sending domain's DMARC policy, and mail from blocklisted IP addresses, before our service runs and outside our control. We give no delivery guarantee beyond best effort, and the service is provided without warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation.

The service cannot send mail. It is intended for testing systems you control.

5. Changes to the API

Additive changes — new endpoints, new optional fields, new status codes on existing endpoints — may ship at any time. A change that would break a working client requires a new path prefix, and the prefix it replaces keeps working for six months. The full policy is at Stability policy.

We may change these terms, the pricing page and the documentation. A change to the tiers or prices that affects a paid subscription takes effect at that subscription's next renewal, and we will tell the account's email address before it does.

6. Payment

Paid subscriptions are sold through Link, Stripe's merchant-of-record service. Link is the seller of record for the transaction: it takes payment, calculates and remits applicable taxes, and issues receipts and invoices. Your contract for the sale is with Link; your contract for the service is with us, under these terms.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can change or cancel a subscription at any time on the Link website or through the billing page of the dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and the account returns to the Free tier and its caps. Refunds and billing disputes are handled by Link under its terms.

If a payment fails and is not resolved, the subscription ends and the account returns to the Free tier.

7. Acceptable use, suspension and termination

Your use of the service is governed by the Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these terms. We may suspend an account immediately, without notice, where we consider that policy to have been broken or where the service is being used in a way that threatens the platform or other customers. While an account is suspended, its API requests are refused and mail addressed to it is dropped and not stored.

You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard. Deletion removes your addresses, the mail held for them, your keys and your account record; account identifiers are never reused. We may terminate an account for repeated or serious breach, and will refund the unused part of a paid period unless the breach involved unlawful use.

8. Your data, and other people's

Mail sent to your addresses is stored for 24 hours so you can read it. That mail is sent by third parties and can contain personal data about people who are not you. How we handle it is described in the Privacy Policy; where you use the service to process personal data for which you are the controller, the Data Processing Agreement applies.

You keep whatever rights you have in the content of mail sent to your addresses. We store and transmit it only in order to provide the service, and we delete it on the schedule in the Privacy Policy.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death, personal injury or fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, or for loss arising from mail that was delayed, dropped or never received; and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid for the service in that period. On the Free tier, where you pay nothing, that amount is nothing.

10. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swedish law, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Swedish courts, with the district court of the company's registered seat as the court of first instance. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence.
